We are excited to announce the ‘Cantors Chai 5K:  Promoting a Healthy Mind, Body and Spirit’!  Our first “fun run/walk” event will take place November 13, 2016 at 2pm in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, NY.

Our members are teachers and community leaders whose mission, in part, is to make a difference in the lives of others.  The Cantors Chai 5K is an innovative vehicle for us to serve our members and the Jewish communities around the world.  We want to use these events to promote a holistic, healthy lifestyle for cantors, their congregations and communities.  The Cantors Chai 5Ks are planned to be fun and inclusive events, a unique way to spend time with cantors and the Jewish and surrounding communities.  We also want to use this initiative and these events as a way to build partnerships with other organizations.  We can be stronger and more effective by uniting together.

For the November 13, 2016 event, we have invited two organizations to join us.  On the national level, MAZON:  A Jewish Response to Hunger (www.mazon.org) will be represented.  MAZON is a national nonprofit organization working to end hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds in the United States and Israel.  On the local level, Tomchei Shabbos of Queens (www.tsqinc.org) will be joining us.  Tomchei Shabbos provides packages of food to needy families and individuals throughout Queens.  Not only do we want to showcase the importance of these organizations to the Jewish community and beyond, but we will also be sharing proceeds from this event with them.

Register by filling in the form below.  There’s a good chance you’ll hear some great singing along the course, but “Singing is Just the Beginning”!
