Cantor Marcelo Gindlin, along with Actor Paul Reiser funded "Hand in Hand" in 2010.

Gindlin directs this inclusion program that integrates youth of all abilities in an after school social and therapeutic program. His goal is to provide young adults with special needs an opportunity to socialize with mainstream peers, learn new skills, and have fun. One of the biggest challenges for children with special needs is to find appropriate programs that provide the support they need as well as opportunities to expand their world in a safe and fun environment, and this “buddy program” addresses those needs. They meet regularly every week, and at other times for special field trips.

With his background in Music Therapy, Cantor Marcelo successfully made this program successfully grow beyond the limits of Malibu and won scholarships, several awards and grants. He organizes an "All Abilities Fair" every year which draws hundreds of people form all over the L.A. area.

"Hand in Hand" accepts all children and young adults, regardless of their faith or affiliation. For our Jewish children who would like a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Cantor Marcelo will provide the opportunity to prepare for a creative and meaningful ceremony. Each Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony is tailored to meet the individual needs of the child and the family, and allows them to celebrate an important milestone in their life.
