From the Hanukkah liturgy, this setting is considered to be Janowski's most operatic piece, and was originally written for Metropolitan Opera tenor, Richard Tucker.  The composition displays a wide variety of emotions—from anger to rejoicing, and shows how important expressing the text is to Janowski.
